The Kentucky Skills U Lesson Bank is an open educational resource available to all adult educators in the state of Kentucky, as well as throughout the United States. The Lesson Bank provides quality lesson plans for instructional use.

To view available lessons, click on “Search for Lessons” in the navigation bar above and select the relevant content area (RLA, Math, etc.). Next, click “Lessons” to first select the correct strand and then the appropriate NRS level. A list of lessons available at that specific NRS level will appear. Click on the preferred lesson title to view a brief synopsis of the lesson.

To view and download complete lessons you must first create an account. Your account will also be your personal repository of lessons you have saved. Instructions for creating an account are below by clicking on “Create an Account”.

Below are links to a series of video tutorials to assist smoothly navigating through the Lesson Bank.  Video 1 welcomes the user to the Lesson Bank and provides a brief history of the Lesson Bank along with the layout and design.  In addition, video 1 provides an introduction of contents contained in the Lesson Bank and how to transition through each tab.   Video 2 provides an overview of how to “get started,” how to use the lesson bank, and its functionality.  In depth guidance for creating and submitting a lesson is found in Video 3.  Finishing the video tutorials, Video 4 helps the user navigate through all of the supporting resources housed in the Lesson Bank.  A PDF of a PowerPoint with this information is also found below.

Get Started with At-A-Glance Crosswalks and Lesson Lists

Click on the “At-A-Glance RLA and Math Crosswalks to GED® High Impact Indicators” tile to find master lesson crosswalks organized by math and RLA content areas. These crosswalks organize lessons by GED® High Impact Indicators, College and Career Readiness (CCR) Standards  and National Reporting Service (NRS) for Adult Education Levels.

Click on the “At-A-Glance Lesson Lists” tile to find master lesson lists organized by RLA, math, career exploration, career cluster, soft skills, and student retention/persistence. These lists organize lessons by lesson title, author, career cluster, and NRS Level/CCR Standard/Employability Standard.

The crosswalks and lesson lists allow educators to speed lesson searches and improve accuracy of lesson choice to meet student needs.
