Lesson Objectives

Students will increase awareness of the effects of word connotation, point of view, and voice on meaning by reading different accounts of an event, interpreting those accounts and organizing them into a time/space chart, and identifying the effects of language to affect interpretation of those events.

Student Target

I can determine the author’s point of view by identifying the effects of word choice on meaning in an explanation of an event.
