LINCS and KYAE Skills U Lesson Bank

LINCS and KYAE Skills U Lesson Bank

KYAE Skills U is very excited to announce that LINCS (Literacy Information and Communication System) has reviewed and selected to feature the KYAE Skills U Lesson Bank in their repository of resources for use by adult educators nationwide. The LINCS Resource Collection contains high-quality multimedia instructional resources, informed by research, for use by adult educators. The resources in the collection are limited to items that have completed a rigorous internal and external review process conducted by subject matter experts and have been recommended and approved by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE), Division of Adult Education and Literacy. The resources have a sound theoretical framework and an application to the adult education field.

LINCS offers an informative abstract for all educators to learn more about this excellent resource.  In an excerpt of the abstract, LINCS experts report that, “these lessons are written by and for adult educators who understand the motivation of adult learners to persist, and they keep the focus on objectives designed to help learners pass a HSE and move successfully into the workplace or post-secondary educational environments. The website is easy to navigate and users can access lessons quickly; all lessons are open educational resources and are thus downloadable and usable for free, a real aid in reducing a teacher’s planning time. In fact, these lessons include all materials needed for a lesson–all is laid out logically with well-considered introductory sections, instructional delivery, guided practice, etc.”  For the complete abstract, please follow this link:  (https://lincs.ed.gov/professional-development/resource-collections/profile-995)
