There are 16 career clusters leading to various career pathways. Instructors can incorporate these clusters into curriculum design and instruction. Adult education services will include workforce preparation activities and training for specific occupations; this will allow students to achieve their educational and career goals. Career Cluster Pathways

The purpose of this lesson is to name integers and rational numbers with their opposites as well as represent situations with integers and rational numbers using number lines, being able to describe 0 in each situation.  Students will be learning skills needed by computer programmers, such as paying attention to detail and problem solving.

Calculating Perimeter and Area of a Rectangle

This lesson will assist students in understanding the concepts of perimeter and area.  Use of the concepts and processes learned to calculate perimeter and area of rectangles will be able to be applied to everyday life and the workplace.

A Failure to Communicate

Students will use effective communication skills to work together to create a satisfactory and logical presentation on information technology facts and findings since clear communication is essential in the workplace, particulary in IT.

First Things First

Students will learn 2 types of text structure; chronological order and problem/solution with a focus on their importance in the workplace, i.e., taking and following directions, problem solving when things do not work the way they are suppose to.

Gettin' Jiggy Wit' It

The purpose of the lesson is to help students to more readily understand the construction of an essay in an IT context by conducting a research project on coding languages. If students are able to successfully conduct research, understand the text, and summarize it, then the student will more readily understand the basic requirements an entery-level position within the workforce as well.
