Lesson PurposeThis lesson is designed to enhance student understanding of the following mathematical skills: Measurement and Spatial Reasoning: students will make frequent use of a protractor in the construction of appropriately-sized pie charts in the representation of data. Additionally, this lesson is designed to enhance student understanding of the following mathematical concepts/content areas: Percent: students will be asked to make computations with percent as an input or output Pre-requisite Knowledge: Ideally, students will already have some experience calculating percent; this should not be the first lesson in a unit on percent for students. |
