To expose students to a wider variety of reading materials in order to improve close reading and inference skills.

At the end of this lesson, students will be able to interpret the theme of a life and career relevant parable as evidenced by their paraphrasing of the story, understanding of the meaning, and ability to relate the meaning to life and work.

(Editing for conventions should demonstrate command of Language standards 1–3 at this level.)
